This collection of 55 PPP case studies — provided by contributing APEC member economies, as well as international financial institutions — covers infrastructure PPP projects in the transport, energy, water supply and wastewater treatment, and service sectors of 18 APEC member economies (Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, and Vietnam). The paper, presented during the October 2014 Finance Ministers’ Meeting in Beijing, China, discusses macroeconomic context and PPP frameworks of each APEC country. The study covers background and preparation, contract structure, legal framework, risk allocation, financing details, and key lessons learned for each project.
