Global Connectedness Index (GCI)
The Global Connectedness Index (GCI) aims to provide comprehensive and timely account of the world’s global connectedness, covering 140 countries (as of 2016). Global connectedness is defined as the depth and breadth of a country’s integration with the rest of the world as manifested by its participation in international flows of products and services, capital, information and people. The index is published bi-annually by DHL, an international shipping and courier service.
